The cloud is an exciting technology. One of the main reasons is that almost every aspect can be automated. Traditional data centres have continued to automate infrastructure tasks and push the boundaries of what is possible, but the cloud brings new opportunities with enormous potential.
Klaus Griesebner studied Information Technology & Systems Management in Salzburg and Sweden. He is now completing a training programme at Porsche Holding Salzburg as an International Management Trainee – IT. In an interview with Michaela Alker, he explains how he is finding it, what he is working on in the final placement stage at Porsche Informatik, and what his plans are for the future.
Hana Salihodzic studied IT in Salzburg and is currently taking a Master’s degree in Media Informatics in Vienna. This year, we again opened our doors to enthusiastic youngsters: at “Girls’ Day” and “Smart Summer”, the young participants were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of technology and IT in an interactive way and discover new talents and interests. It’s the beginning of January. The conference room is full and the atmosphere could be better. One of our partners has just reported that 150 OpenShift projects in Europe are waiting for specialists and therefore cannot be carried out. We knew that our plan to set up a productive Red Hat OpenShift container platform by the end of April was ambitious but had no idea how many companies were currently struggling with it. Nevertheless, we took up the challenge! OpenShift in our own IT centre is an important milestone on our journey to the cloud.
